ADHA to screen Jingi as Gov Fintiri is set to appoints him Attorney General and commissioner forJustice

Adamawa State House of Assembly has received the name of Barrister Afraimu Jingi from Fufore Local Government for Consideration, Screening and Confirmation as Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice Adamawa State.

The request for the approval was send by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri and read on the floor of the House by Speaker Alhaji Aminu Iya Abbas during Monday plenary session.

After deliberations and various contributions from the Majority Leader of the House Alhaji Hammantukur Yettisuri of Jada Mbulo, Abdullahi Umar Yapak of Verre and Shaibu Babas of Fufore Gurin Constituencies Speaker Aminu Iya Abbas put the motion for the consideration of the letter into voice vote and the lawmakers unanimously supported.

Thereafter Majority Leader of the House Alhaji Hammantukur Yettisuri Move a motion for the House to invite Barrister Afraimu Jingi to appear before it tomorrow Tuesday for screening and Seconded by Member representing Fufore Gurin Constituency Alhaji Shaibu Babas.

Speaker Iya Abbas directed the Clerk of the House to communicate the resolution to the Nominee to appear before it tomorrow Tuesday by ten O’clock in the morning for Screening.

Also during the plenary a bill for a law to establish for the twenty one Local Government Councils in the State Emergency Management Committee sponsored by the member representing Michika Constituency Mr Ayuba Joseph Kwada scale through first reading on the floor of the House Monday.

Speaker Aminu Iya Abbas who presided over the plenary session directed the chairman House Committee on rules , business, ethics and privilege to schedule the bill for second reading during any convenient legislative sitting.

Meanwhile the Adamawa State House of Assembly has passed another resolution mandating the Adamawa State Government to provide emergency relief materials to victims of flood in Yola North Local Government area and provide lasting solution on the Issue across the State.

The House resolution followed a matter of urgent Public Importance raised by the member representing Yola North constituency Alhaji Hamidu Sajoh Lekki on the floor of the House during Monday plenary session on the recent flood disaster in the area and some part of Yola South Local Government.

He said the flood has lead to the dead of many people, destroyed houses and food items worth millions of Naira praying to the House to as matter of urgency passed resolution mandate relevant authorities to provide the victims with emergency relief materials to cushion their hardship.

Contributing on the existing order the Majority Leader of the House Hammantukur Yettisuri and members representing, Demsa,Verre, Song, Nasarawo Binyeri, Guyuk, Shelleng among others said the issue of flood is one of the major source of concern that people are experiencing during the rainy season.

After deliberations on the matter Speaker Aminu Iya Abbas directed the Clerk of the House to communicate the resolution to the appropriate authorities for emergency action.
