AFCON: Kaduna Indigene NYSC member serving in Adamawa dies while Watching Nig vs SA Match

A corps member who is an Indigene of Kagoro, Kaura Local Government area of Kaduna state serving in Numan Local Government area of Adamawa State has passed away while watching the Super eagles Match of Nigeria with Bafana Bafana of the Republic of South Africa.

The Adamawa State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corp (NYSC), Mr Denis Jingi confirmed the unfortunate incident to our Yola Correspondent said Peter Yunana’s corpse has since been deposited at the Modibbo Adama University teaching hospital Yola in preparation for his burial in Kagoro.

Peter with the NYSC registration number ,AD/23C/0365 serving in GSS Numan,collapsed and died last night during the penalty shootout of Super Eagles and Bafana Bafana.

Mr Jingi said:”Peter and his fellow corps members were watching the Nigeria vs South Africa football match and when it reached the time for the penalty kick,he told his colleagues that he won’t watch the kick,so he bend down his head and later collapsed.”

“He was rushed to the Numan General Hospital by his colleagues and was confirmed dead. The corpse is deposited in the hospital’s mutuary .

“We have transported the corpse to FMC Yola this morning for proper preservation,pending the funeral arrangements by his parents in Kaduna state.”
