In a decisive move that has sent ripples across Adamawa State, the state government has indefinitely suspended Alhaji Hassan Ja’afaru, the District Head of Daware in Fufore Local Government Area, following a series of allegations of corruption and maladministration.

 

The suspension, announced through an official letter from the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Department of Chieftaincy Affairs, comes on the heels of an investigative report by Tgnews, a prominent news platform that exposed the emir’s alleged criminal activities.

 

The letter, dated April 25, 2025, and signed by Adama Felicity Mamman, the Permanent Secretary, cites a “series of complaints made against you for maladministration, breach of security, confiscation of farmlands, and creating a vacuum that has led to traditional issues unattended for as a result of your not staying in your domain.”

The directive, issued under the authority of the Executive Governor of Adamawa State, orders Alhaji Ja’afaru to immediately hand over all government properties in his possession to the district scribe while further directives are pending.

The allegations against the emir, as uncovered by Tgnews, include the misuse of power, illegal confiscation of farmlands, and neglecting his duties, which reportedly destabilized the traditional structure in Daware.
