I am glad to be back in my second home Numan, the cradle of the Fresh Air movement to commission the IZALA-GWEDA MALLAM-RAFA-WAYAM Road.

In my Government’s typical responsiveness to the yearnings of the people, we have selected this road projects in the heart of sub-urban Numan under the Governments Renewal Agenda.
Other compelling reasons for making the Gweda Mallam Road a priority pilot project is the perennial flooding which residents have endured in the preceding years. I am aware that thousands of residents usually move out of this area during the rainy season only to return after the rains to pick up the pieces of their lives and livelihood.
This is unacceptable to this Government which puts immense value on the welfare of its citizens.
It is for this reason that this road project was among the first Township roads along with Michika, to be selected outside the State capital.
I am excited to note that the contractors have done a good job by constructing a standard road with the civil specification to address the perennial flooding that have bedeviled this area.
While we continue to make progress in virtually all critical sectors, as your servant, I understand that Government cannot address all the problems of our citizens at once. This is because what concerns my Government is touching the lives of the people. I am glad that apart from what we have done in Gweda Mallam, the upgrade of the Numan General Hospital is progressing steadily, hopefully this too will be come on stream soon.
We have also addressed the rehabilitation of schools and the provision of Maternities and Healthcare Cenres.
However all these will amount to little without the deliberate commitment of my Government to promoting peaceful co-existence in the Numan Federation.
For me personally, peace building is a process not an event. This is why the Government has insisted on bringing our people together regardless of tribal and religious differences.
In this regard, let me welcome my Brother Governor Mohammed Inuwa Yahya of Gombe State who is here to commission this project and also attend to State matters concerning peace.
In the words of a famous Philosopher, we must learn to stay together as brothers or perish together as fools.
I know we are all stakeholders in the peace process and must do all we can to attain it.
Finally, it is my pleasure to invite my Brother Governor Inuwa Yahya to commission this project for the benefit of mankind.
Thank you.
