AGRICULTURAL REVOLUTION IN ADAMAWA: Senator Abbas’ Training Initiative Sets Stage for Food Security

Senator Aminu Iya Abbas has charged beneficiaries of a recent agricultural training program to strive for self-sufficiency. The program, which was sponsored by Senator Abbas, aimed to equip over 100 constituents with technology skills transfer on innovation technologies, evaluation, and preservation of agro-produce to enhance food safety.

The training, held at the Nigeria Union of Teachers House in Yola, was conducted by the National Board for Technology Incubation (NBTI) in collaboration with MAKPLAN Global Investment Nigeria Nigeria Ltd. Participants were drawn from the seven local government areas that make up Adamawa Central.

Senator Abbas, represented by Mallam Adamu Babikkoi Adamu PhD, expressed optimism that the training would empower beneficiaries to become self-sufficient and contribute meaningfully to Adamawa’s agricultural economy. He emphasized that the participants were equipped with technical skills in modern farming and practical knowledge of biotechnology.

Salihu Umar Babayi, NBTI representative, commended Senator Abbas for prioritizing the empowerment of his constituents. He assured the participants that they would be empowered with resources to put their new skills into practice.

The Managing Director of Makplan Global Investment Limited, Dr. Kabir Dan Maliki, urged the participants to use the knowledge acquired during the training for the benefit of the district. Participants expressed gratitude to Senator Abbas, praising his efforts in supporting local agriculture and enhancing economic empowerment in Adamawa Central.
