Akiga Josephine Terundu, an APC member from Mbajir Council Ward in Katsina-Ala Local Government Area, has strongly rejected what she described as imposition and marginalisation within the party’s zoning arrangement for the 2027 Benue State House of Assembly election.

Terundu, who hails from Sai 1 Polling Unit, said she was initially favoured by the party’s zoning formula for the Katsina-Ala constituency. However, upon presenting herself for proper documentation at the ward level, she was informed that the seat could not be allocated to her because her grandfather had previously contested and occupied the position.
Speaking on the development, Terundu questioned the fairness of the decision. “Is this how politics should be done?” she asked, expressing disappointment over the denial despite the zoning advantage granted to her area.
She has since vowed to resist any form of imposition or marginalisation, calling for equity, fairness, and adherence to the spirit of zoning within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State.
Party stakeholders in the area are yet to issue an official statement on the matter as preparations for the 2027 general elections continue to gather momentum.
