One of the most illustrious Sons of Adamawa state,a Lagos based legal practitioner and a renown lawyer with decades of experience in the field of law, Barr Ibrahim Tahir was at three different times the Attorney-General and Commisioner for Justice in the state.He holds the traditional tittle of Talba of Ganye Chiefdom from the southern part of the state where he came from.
An astute politician and a gentleman,he ventured into politics since early 1980s.He was member of SDP until he moved to the NRC mainly to work for the presidential project of Alh Umaru Shinkafi of blessed memory.Talba was in the APP,ANPP,PDP and now the ruling APC.
The Politician and philanthropist of note,he believed in sacrificing for the less privileged.He built primary schools where non had existed furnished and stocked a number of school libraries with instructional materials and literature as part of his FOUNDATIONS socio-economic and educational contribution in addition to sponsoring children of the poor and the downtrodden from primary to tertiary levels.
This feats of great achievements induced the paramount ruler of Adamawa state, the Lamido Adamawa HRH Alh.Muhammadu Barkindo Aliyu Musdafa PHD,CFR and Grand Patron of Tabital Pulaaku International to add another feather to Talbas cap;the title of “Alkalin Alkalai” of the Adamawa Emirate Council to this near perfect gentleman, a philanthropist,celebrated lawyer,Politician of note and a down to earth personality.
The “Alkalin Alkalai” title means the Chief Justice, an honour given by Sheikh USMAN Danfodiyo only to respected Jurists.Talba Ganye is the first in the history of the Adamawa Emirate to be so recognized and conferred with this very important title;a pointer to his being one of the worthy sons of the land.
BARR Ibrahim TAHIR is the Fourth to be so honoured by the Lamido from Ganye chiefdom, the first being the former Chairman, Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur as Tafidan Adamawa, second was the former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar as Turakin Adamawa and thirdly, that of Alhaji Koiranga Jada (whose title as Mutawallen Adamawa was later withdrawn ).While all these three personalities mentioned above, hailed from Jada Local Government made Talba the 1st from Ganye the seat of the Chiefdom.

The Customary Court of Appeal of the state was also established during his tenure as the HAG of the state.
The result oriented Tahir have influenced the final relocation of the College of Agriculture to Ganye Chiefdom prior to which time the chiefdom lacked a high institution. People In the zone have known him to be a detribalised fellow and hates any form of religious discrimination and sentiments.
