First News gathered that he has been on the commission’s watch list until his arrest on Thursday.

The former governor, however, was moved to the headquarters of the commission for interrogation.

Meanwhile, the former governor would be going through interrogation alongside his son, Chinedu Orji, who is the Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly.

Chinedu turned himself in a few hours after his father’s arrest.

Both of them are facing allegations of alleged misappropriation of public funds and money laundering to the tune of N551 billion.

Orji was alleged to have embezzled the N500 million monthly security vote he received for eight years as governor of Abia State between 2007 and 2015.

Other issues relate to the alleged mismanagement of N2bn Ecological Fund and conversion of Sure-P funds.

The development was been confirmed by the EFCC spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren.
