Former Acting Governor of Taraba state and flag bearer of the All Progressive Congress APC in the state Alhaji Sani Abubakar Danladi has expressed fear with the way the security agents are handling security situation in the state.
He stated this shortly after he signed Peace Accord at the Taraba state Police Command in Jalingo, the state capital.
Danladi who expressed dismay over the incident that happened in Wukari local government area, also described the action exhibited by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) as unfortunate.
He explained that before they embarked on the rally to the area an approval was given by the state Commissioner of Police CP Dave Akinremi, but to his supprised when they were attacked by the armed youths the DPO said he was not aware of their rally.
Responding on the matter, Deputy Commissioner of Police Mr. Saleh Tafida who represented the CP at the occasion expressed shocked on the DPO’s statement, pointed out that they have the APC schedule for the rally and all DPOs were informed too, while he appealed to the APC Governorship candidate to exercise patient as investigation is ongoing to that effect.
In a remark, INEC Resident Commissioner in Taraba state Alhaji Baba Abba Yusuf primised to provide a level playing ground for all political parties, as well as to ensuring the conduct of a free, fair, credible and acceptable election in the state.
