Reports across Adamawa State indicate that 2024 Eid El- Kabir Sallah celebration was conducted peacefully amidst economic hardship that the country is grappling with.
Muslim faithful converged on eid grounds nearest to them across to the state and observed the two raka’ats prayer.
Imams who led the prayers in their various sermons reminded Muslims who were opportune to have sacrificial animals to distribute the meat according to Islamic traditions.
The Imams who enumerated categories of healthy animals that are eligible for sacrifice, prayed for tranquility in the country.
Khadi Ahmadu Bobboi, Chief Imam Modibbo Adama Central Mosque Yola prayed for tranquility in the country and charged Muslims to sacrifice only animals that meet the requirements for the sacrifice so as to reap rewards.
Also, the Chief Imam of Mubi Central Mosque, Modibbo Abbas Bindo cautioned youths to shun vices that are inimical to their progress, but engage in meaningful ventures for them to contribute to the economic growth of the country
Modibbo Abbas also stressed the need for wealthy individual to assist the needy during hard times and warned Muslim faithful against hypocrisy and backbiting.
He advised Muslims to sustain the lesson learnt in the last ten days of Dhul- Hajj due to immense reward attached to it.
In his sermon, the Deputy Chief Imam of Jimeta Central Mosque, Moddibo Yahya Nasir lamented over the current economic challenges in the country and admonished Muslims to celebrate the feast in accordance with the teachings of Islam.
The Chief Imam Shelleng Jumma’at Central Mosque, Mallam Rilwanu Dankaka stressed the need for Nigerians to exercise patience and put their trust in Allah due the current hardship bedeviling the country.
He however, attributed the trend to sinful act of humanity, calling on Muslims to desist from wrongdoings and embrace righteousness for God’s mercy.
Mallam Dankaka explained that whenever people repent, renounce their evil ways and seek Allah’s forgiveness, certainly Allah will forgive them.
On his part, the chief Imam Agga Islamic Center, Yola Shiek Mikhail called on Muslims to tolerant one another and be supportive to the less privileged in the society.
He said Eid el-kabir entails sacrifice, unity, love and forgiveness and reminded remind the Muslim on the need to imbibe lessons learnt during the last ten days of the month of Dhul-hijjah in their daily affairs.
