The confrontation resulted in the death of one suspect, while two others, Amechi Okoro and Michael Oko, were taken into custody. According to the Corps Commander, Brigadier General Alade Adedigba, Okoro, who was arrested during the gunfight, led operatives to the gang’s hideout, leading to the capture of Oko, who had initially escaped from the crime scene.

During interrogation, Okoro revealed that he had been released from the Ikoyi Correctional Centre just last Monday, while Oko claimed to have been recruited by the gang’s ringleader, known as Awuha.
