Anambra poll: A’Court declares Ozigbo PDP candidate, awards him N10m

Appeal Court sitting in Abuja on Friday declared Valentine Ozigbo the authentic candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the coming governorship election in Anambra State.

This came following the ruling of a three-man panel of justices led by the President of the Court of Appeal, Honorable Justice Monica Dongban- Mensem.

The declaration came as the court delivered its ruling in the appeal. They held that Ozigbo’s appeal had merit and, therefore, set aside the decision of the lower court, declaring it null and void.

The appellate went further to award the sum of N10 million in favor of Ozigbo.

It then mandated the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to publish the names of Ozigbo and his running mate as the duly elected candidates of the PDP in the state.
