Anniversary Lecture: Gov Fintiri Reaffirms Commitment For Better Adamawa State

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has expressed renewed commitment to deliver good governance for the betterment of the citizens and the state.

The Governor stated this in his address at the 5th anniversary public lecture held in the Banquet Hall, Government House, Yola Mon.

With a theme “Quintessence of politics”, the public lecture was organised in commemoration of five-year anniversary of Governor Umaru Fintiri.

Represented by his deputy, Prof. Kaletapwa Farauta, Governor Fintiri reminded the citizens that politics is all about promoting justice and creating opportunities for the people across all divides.

According to him, government has strived to uphold these values by ensuring its policies and initiatives reflect the aspirations and needs of the masses.

He reaffirmed his commitment to serve the people with integrity and dedication, noting that their presence at the lecture is a testament of their commitment to Adamawa project.

The governor added that the lecture provides an opportunity to delve deeper into the essence of politics, exploring its theoretical foundations and practical applications.

The guest speaker, Prof Abdullahi Liman Tukur who dwelt on the potentials of politics, expressed the need for leaders at all levels to explore and utilize the full potentials endowed in politics for the sustenance of development.

He emphasizes that conflict resolution, peace building, infrastructure and urbanisation, environment sustainability, effective governance, and responsive leadership among others should be the hallmark of politics.

In his remarks, the immediate past secretary to the state government, Malam Bashiru Ahmad commended Governor Fintiri for the unprecedented successes recorded in the state.

He added: “I pity anybody taking over from Governor Ahmadu Fintiri. Let there be a working document that those coming after the Governor will follow through and it should be all encompassing.”

There were goodwill messages from various dignitaries who described Governor Fintiri as a developer, unifier and bridge builder, wishing him a successful tenure.
