Barely few hours to All Progressives Congress (APC) convention in Abuja, Adamawa Senator who is aspiring to be next Northeast national vice Chairman of the party said former national assembly members have endorsed him for tomorrow’s elections.
Senator Ahmed Barata who is from Adamawa Southern Zone said the endorsement made by some political stakeholders from the state on Comrade Mustapha Salihu is not part of it as is still in the race to clinch the seat.
According to him, the election is for five states comprised of Borno, Yobe, Bauchi, Adamawa, and Taraba. It’s not a one state-show event or meant for only the political class of Adamawa.
He said those agitating for endorsement and consensus candidates are not being fair to him and the principles of democracy.
“I’m in the race because I have the endorsement of over one thousand former National Assembly members from the five states.
” The endorsement came after our caucus meeting today and I, therefore, have a clean go-ahead to go for the National vice-chairman from Adamawa State because I and many others don’t subscribe to what they did.” Barata said
