APC in Adamawa suspends three of its members for mortgaging the party at the election tribunal

The All Progressives Congress (APC) party in Adamawa suspended three of its members for “mortgaging the overall interest of the party and its teaming supporters.”

You could recall that APC in the state have filed a petition against the declaration of Rt Hon. Ahmadu Umaru as elected Governor of Adamawa state before the Governorship election petitions tribunal in the state.

In a Press Statement issued to Journalists in Yola and signed by the state publicity secretary, Hon Mohammed Abdullahi States that ;Alh. Aliyu Bakari (Zonal Vice Chairman central), Alh Saidu Naira (State Financial Secretary) and Alh. Babangida Talase (Party Chairman Mayo-Belwa local government) sabotaged the interest of the party by approaching the tribunal to withdraw the party’s petition.

According to the press release, the three APC went to court challenging the governorship election at the instance of PDP agents.

Following a disciplinary committee report set to investigate the matter and recommend appropriate action to be taken in line with the provision of the party’s constitution.

The statement revealed that the report of the committee have been received and adopted by the state Executive committee of the party

The following measures have been taken against the Exco members involved:

“Alh. Saidu Naira and Alh. Babangida Talase have been suspended from the party for a period of six months

” Alh. Aliyu Bakari has been suspended indefinitely from the party.

“All the suspended officials are relieved of their respective positions in the exco. And the matter has been referred to the national Secretariat of the party for further necessary action and directive.”
