Following the appointment of the Governor of Adamawa State, Sen Mohammed Umar Jibrilla, as a member of the APC National Covention Committe, the leadership of the ruling party has, today, inaugurated the 66-member committee, at the National Secretariat of the party in Abuja.
The terms of reference of the committee include:
1- To organise the conduct of the 4th National Convention in line with the constitutional provisions of the party
2- To ensure a befitting, transparent and peaceful conduct of the election of national officers of the party
3- Any other recommendation and arrangement which, in the general opinion of the committee, will enhance the smooth conduct of the National Convention.
In his remark shortly before the inauguration, National Chairman of APC, Dr Odigie John Oyegun, noted that the signs are clear that, “this is a vibrant and serious party and all of you have been carefully chosen to ensure victory for the party”.
He said, “the party decided on the dates for her congresses because of the Ramadan fasting that will soon be observed by Nigerian Muslims”.
He urged them to produce a convention that will be adjudged free, fair, transparent and with a level-playing field for all aspirants.
