The Adamawa All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders unity meeting at the party’s secretariat in Yola where Alhaji Hamman Bello Ahmed, OFR, a retired comptroller General,Nigeria Customs Service was in attendance said the party is truly a hub of development if they are truly United in Adamawa state.
Bello drew the attention of all politicians during the meeting that the National interim leadership of the party delegated its North East vice chairman, Professor Mamman Tahir to formally welcome, Adamawa former Governor, Bala James Ngilari, the Senator representing Adamawa Northern zone, Mr. Ishaku Abbo and Senator Abdulaziz Nyako who recently defected to the party revealed that only unity can take them to the next level.
The former customs Boss while responding to the need of the party to Unite both at the National down to the state, and local governments levels, he said the party is a pillar of development if the sustain the tempo of unity across the country.
According to him Adamawa state is a big state and represents Nigeria as there is no position at the federal level they do not produce or are having, this has become necessary for the party to bring about development, because they are having the who and who that matter in the political scene of the country.
He worried that Adamawa is an agrarian State and Agriculture remains the best way to cause an industrial revolutionary change with unprecedented ripples effects that can take Adamawa youths off the street.
While calling on the politicians holding political office to meet President Muhammadu Buhari to harness the arable nature of the state for development, he said politicians in the state should Unite for development purpose and discard all form of sentiment.
Bello, an APC stakeholder in Adamawa state lamented how unemployment is becoming a serious threat to the country despite huge agricultural and human resources Nigeria is proud of.
He made a passionate appealed to the federal government for the Dredging of River Benue to prop up the inland ports of Numan, Jimeta, and Jabbi Lamba to resume the Exportation of Hydrocarbons Oils, construction of standard gauge.
He also solicited the federal government to construct railway lines from Lokoja through Wukari, Jalingo, Numan, Jimeta, Mubi and finally connecting the Maiduguri line to open up the State.
He said Agriculture as a major activity of the people of Adamawa state, Dredging of Parda lake and a revisit to Jada Dam construction for Irrigation and supply of 4.5 megawatts of electricity will boost socio-economic activities of the state.
“Rehabilitation of international roads of Mubi Sahuda road, Jabbi Lamba Belel, Garoua Road, and Toungo Kouncha road, etc will bring about massive development in the state,” Bello said
