APC Primary Victory: Engr. Salihijo Thanks Supporters, Party Leaders, Pledges Unity and Transformative Representation

Engr. Ahmad Salihijo Ahmad has been declared the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the House of Representatives in the Yola North, Yola South, and Girei Federal Constituency, following a keenly contested primary election.

In a heartfelt press statement issued after his victory, the engineer-turned-politician expressed profound gratitude to God and commended the confidence reposed in him by the APC, its delegates, stakeholders, and members across the constituency.

Ahmad paid glowing tributes to national and state leaders, particularly commending President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his leadership in positioning the APC as a platform for governance and democratic stability.

He also thanked Adamawa State Governor, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, for ensuring a level playing field, and lauded the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, describing him as an inspiring figure whose commitment to national development continues to motivate a new generation of leaders.

The candidate extended appreciation to APC National Vice Chairman (North East), Barr. Idris Shaibu, Adamawa State APC Chairman, Alhaji Hamza Bello Madagali, and all party structures, elders, women, and youth groups for their support.

In a call for reconciliation and collective strength, Ahmad urged fellow aspirants to put the primary behind them and work together for the party’s success in the general elections.

“Primaries produce candidates, but unity produces victory,” he stated. “This contest may be over, but the real work now begins. We must reconcile, consolidate, and move forward together as one political family.”

Outlining his vision for the constituency, the APC candidate emphasized that effective representation goes beyond slogans. He pledged to leverage his extensive experience in public service — particularly in rural electrification, infrastructure delivery, development finance, and institutional leadership — to attract meaningful development to Yola North, Yola South, and Girei.

Ahmad highlighted key priorities including reliable infrastructure, skills development, digital opportunities, SME growth, agriculture value chains, vocational training, entrepreneurship support, and youth empowerment. He stressed that the people desire “pathways to sustainable productivity” rather than temporary handouts.

“Yola North, Yola South, and Girei deserve representation that understands how Abuja works and how to make Abuja work for our people,” he declared. “A constituency with reliable infrastructure creates opportunities for businesses, empowers young people, strengthens local economies, and restores faith in public leadership.”

The candidate promised an inclusive campaign that gives voice to all segments of the constituency — youth, women, traders, farmers, professionals, religious and traditional leaders, and persons with disabilities.

He described the victory as the beginning of greater responsibility and expressed confidence in delivering measurable results through competence, transparency, and institutional engagement.

As the APC gears up for the general elections, Ahmad called for renewed hard work and dedication from all stakeholders, expressing optimism for a prosperous future for the federal constituency.

Engr. Ahmad Salihijo Ahmad, popularly associated with Kainuwa in Adamawa, will now fly the APC flag in the quest to represent the constituency at the National Assembly.
