A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Sale Mohammed, has stated that the party will not accept the results from Kanam Local Government Area if the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is declared the winner. According to him, APC won 95% of the total votes cast from the 20 wards of the council.
Violence erupted in Dengi following the disappearance of electoral officials and their inability to announce the winner of the elections at the collection center. The trouble stemmed from the alleged disappearance of electoral officials who are currently nowhere to be found.
Addressing journalists in Dengi on Thursday, Prof. Sale Mohammed, a former council chairman of Kanam Local Government Area, revealed that APC’s candidates overwhelmingly won 95% of the election in Kanam, securing 14 out of the 20 wards. He informed that the returning officers for the local government had absconded from the ward collections.

Prof. Sale expressed that he had lost confidence in the Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission (PLASIEC) even before the polls took place. “I don’t have confidence in PLASIEC; we were told on social media that the results would be announced even without elections, and we have seen,” he said.
He also alleged that security operatives and political thugs refused to allow them access to the venue where the election results were meant to be announced.
