APC Ward Congress Conducted Peacefully Across Adamawa State

The All Progressives Congress (APC) on Monday successfully held its ward congress across all wards in Adamawa State, with party leaders describing the exercise as peaceful, transparent, free, and fair.

The congress, which saw party members elect new ward executives, was monitored by the State Ward Congress Committee led by Honourable Ephraim Abgwe. He visited several polling centres in Yola North, Yola South, and Girei Local Government Areas and expressed satisfaction with the overall conduct of the process.

Speaking after the exercise, Honourable Abgwe said the congress reflected the growing strength and unity within the APC in Adamawa State.

“The process was free, fair, and credible. It shows that our party is becoming stronger and more united. I am impressed with the level of orderliness displayed by our members,” he stated.

Earlier, the Chairman of the APC Ward and Local Government Screening Committee, Honourable Mohammed Abdullahi Dada, confirmed that all aspirants for various ward positions underwent thorough screening in line with the party’s guidelines. Only qualified and cleared candidates were allowed to participate.

Honourable Dada assured party members that the screening was conducted with the highest level of transparency and fairness.

Honourable Abgwe had earlier reiterated the party’s commitment to internal democracy, urging members to abide by the APC constitution and laid-down rules during the congress.

He also commended the massive and orderly participation of party faithful, attributing the peaceful atmosphere to adequate security arrangements put in place across the state.

The successful ward congress is being viewed as a major boost to the APC’s internal restructuring ahead of future party activities and the 2027 general elections.

Party stakeholders believe the credible conduct of the exercise will further consolidate the APC’s position in Adamawa State.
