The APC Youth Vanguard, Taraba State Chapter, has raised concerns about the frequency and cost of foreign trips undertaken by Governor Dr. Agbu Kefas in a bid to attract foreign investors to the state.

While the group recognizes the importance of fostering international investment, it questions the effectiveness of these trips, given that no significant investments have been reported to date.

The Governor’s recent participation in a Ministerial Panel in India adds to a growing list of international travels, including trips to the UK, Finland, Germany, Paris, and the USA, within just two years in office. Last year alone, the Taraba State Government spent over 6.5 billion naira on foreign trips.

The APC Youth Vanguard under the leadership of Amb Rikwense Muri expressed concern that such large expenditures have not translated into tangible benefits for the people of Taraba, urging the Governor to evaluate the returns on these trips. The group advocates for a redirection of resources toward local initiatives that will directly contribute to the state’s development.

We believe the funds spent on foreign trips could be better utilized on initiatives that provide immediate, local impact and foster sustainable growth within Taraba

“We believe the funds spent on foreign trips could be better utilized on initiatives that provide immediate, local impact and foster sustainable growth within Taraba,” said a spokesperson for the APC Youth Vanguard.

The group has called on Governor Kefas to reassess his investment strategies, prioritize transparency, and take a more cost-effective approach to advancing the state’s economic development.

The APC Youth Vanguard under the leadership of Amb Rikwense Muri remains committed to supporting initiatives that benefit Taraba’s citizens and calls for a focused effort to deliver real outcomes for the state.
