The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Numan, Demsa, and Lamurde Local Government Areas of Adamawa State held a press conference today, themed “Our Party, Our Strength: A Call Against Factional Politics.”

The event, attended by party youths and officials, commenced with an opening prayer and featured a keynote address by the party’s speaker, Hon. Paul Pouno Zidon.
In his welcome remarks, Hon. Zidon extended a warm reception to both new and old members of the APC. He specially welcomed His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Adamawa State, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, along with members of his cabinet, into the party.
He highlighted the progressive changes and developments witnessed in Adamawa under the Governor’s administration since his recent alignment with the APC.
Hon. Zidon also expressed gratitude to the party’s leader in the state, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, the National Security Advisor, for his tireless efforts in stabilizing and strengthening the APC in Adamawa.
The main focus of the address was a strong appeal against division within the party. Hon. Zidon raised concerns over the recent defection actions of Hon. Barr. Kwamoti Bitrus Laori, noting that such moves have created perceptions of factional politics in the party.
He urged the people of Demsa, Numan, and Lamurde to remain united, emphasizing that there is only one legitimate party structure that must be respected by all members.
Quoting the proverb, “When brothers fight themselves, strangers inherit their land,” he stressed that internal divisions would only weaken the collective strength of the APC and benefit outsiders.
In conclusion, Hon. Zidon called on all party members to stay vigilant and not allow anyone to mislead or divide them. He reiterated the importance of unity to sustain the party’s progress and achieve greater success ahead.
The press conference underscored the APC’s commitment to a cohesive structure in the three local government areas amid recent political realignments in Adamawa State.
