Dr. Umar Ardo, a former PDP Chieftain, and currently the Social Democratic Party (SDP) Governorship candidate for the coming 2023 elections has on Sunday morning took to his social media handle to share his “Air Crash” ordeal with Arik Air flight.
Umar Ardo said they (Passengers) “survived an air mishap (Air Crash) with Arik flight No. W3721 from Abuja to Lagos!”.
In his narration, the Governorship candidates said the Arik flight No. W3721’s flaps did not properly retract after takeoff, which resulted in the aircraft trembling and not ascending.
According to Umar Ardo, nobody on the flight received an announcement from the cockpit, but everyone must have suspected that something was seriously wrong.
However, he revealed, that the issue persisted and after about 15 minutes, the announcement finally went out.
Ardo acknowledged that an Indian-accented pilot said that there was a technical issue with the aircraft’s tail and that he would either try to fix it or try to return to Abuja.
The SDP Governorship candidate in Adamawa noted that the pilot once more declared that we were landing in Abuja after a while. And the horrifying ordeal persisted for about 30 minutes until the pilot was eventually able to safely land the aircraft in Abuja, with the entire passengers applauding his effort for saving them from a total crash.

“Alhamdulillah, Alhamdulillah, Alhamdulillah!
“We have just survived an air mishap with Arik flight No. W3721 from Abuja to Lagos! On takeoff, the aircraft flaps failed to return into place, and the aircraft wasn’t gaining altitude and started vibrating.
“Everyone in the flight must have guessed that something was terribly wrong, but no announcement came from the cockpit. Still the problem persisted. At last after about 15mins the announcement came through. The pilot, with an Indian accent, announced that he was experiencing a technical problem at the tail of the aircraft – he would try to see if he can solve it or try to return us to Abuja.
“After a while again the pilot announced that we were returning to Abuja. And for nearly 30mins the horrific experience continued until the pilot was able to finally safely land the aircraft in Abuja.
” We commend the efforts of the pilot. We thank God Almighty for spearing us an aircraft crash! I have canceled the Lagos appointment till another day. May God Almighty continue to protect us all the days of our lives. Ameen!”
