Arewa Aid Foundation honors Yobe Chief of Staff

In recognition of his enormous contribution to the less privilege in the society and humanity, the Chief of Staff to Yobe State Governor, Alhaji Salleh Abubakar was today honored by members of Arewa Aid Foundation, a non-governmental and nonprofit making organization comprising of youth from Borno, Yobe Kaduna, Kano, Adamawa, Gombe Bauchi and other states in the north.

The presentation of the award was made by the National Coordinator and founder of the Foundation Abdullahi Ibrahim at the expansive office of the Chief of Staff at Yobe State Government House, Damaturu where he lauded the contribution of the Mr. Salleh Abubakar for the success and activities of their foundation.

According to him, through the assistance of Mr. Salleh Abubakar, the Foundation has been able to execute so many developmental projects that have touched the lives of the ordinary people in the state including the feeding of Internally Displaced People across Camps in the state during Ramadam.

In his response, Mr. Salleh Abubakar said he was humbled by the recognition of the foundation, adding that he never knew that the little thing that he was doing will be noticed by anybody in the society.

While praising the commitment of the young members of the Foundation, Mr. Abubakar recalled his youthful days as a student when everything was provided free for them by the government, while regretting that none of such privileges exist for the youth anymore in the country.

He charged the youth to work hard to replace them at the right time.

“I am so happy with the work you are doing. Serving humanity is one important thing in life that we must all cherish. It is always good to give back to the society what you have gained from it. I urge you all, as youth to work hard and replace us because time will come when we will leave the stage and you will take over from us as leaders. You cannot achieve that overnight except you work hard by getting educated, responsible and transparent in whatever you are doing in life.

“I want to assure you that as long as you carry out with this kind of zeal and commitment, I will continue to partner with you at all time to actualizing you goals and objectives. My doors are always open for you 24/7,” Salleh Abubakar said.

TGnews gathered that members of the Foundation are from the ages of 18 to 25. They are also mostly students with no working income apart from the stipends they get from their parents but have however remain resolute with their passion of raising the living standard of the less privilege.

The National Secretary of the Foundation Aliyu Ibrahim Gashua informed that the Foundation was formed to help in educational disadvantage states and other states in the north that are prone to crisis and disaster.

He added that the member of the Foundation is drawn from Borno, Yobe, Kaduna, Kano, Gombe, Adamawa etc with the hope to tackling youth challenges and development, while stressing that the recognition of Mr. Salleh Abubakar would serve as a catalyst for others who are sleeping.
