The Nigeria Army has graduated 32 Skill Aquisition Trainees from the 23rd Brigade Entrepreneurship and Skill Acquisition Center (ESAC) in Adamawa State.
The beneficiaries who were issued certificates at Gibson Jalo Cantonment Yola comprises 26 from the Nigerian Airforce, four from the Nigerian Army, and two from the Correctional Services.
Mrs Esther Oladele, Assistant Director Education of the centre said that despite COVID-19 pandemic, the graduands completed three months in Computer/ICT, Hair dressing, Tailoring, Knitting, barbing, interior decoration, shoemaking and cartering services.
Next phase of the training, Oladele said, is scheduled to commence on 4th October 2021.
“The empowerment program carried out at the centre spanned three months, depending on area of specialization as the program was modified to run on quarterly basis, which gives the opportunity to graduate four sets of trainees in a year.
She enumerated inadequate manpower to carry out the instructional task of the centre, adding that tuition fees cannot carter for the administrative and management needs of the centre.
The Commander, 103 Strike Group, Air Commodore Joseph Malgwi, Air Cdre I H Etukudo, Comdr 203 Intelligence Surveillqnce Reconnaisance, Comdr 153 BSG, Air Cdre L.I Oluwantoyin and Commander 23rd Brigade Brid.Gen Mustapha Garba collectively commssioned the reconstructed Quarter Guard and RSM office respectively.
