Aspersion, bitterness, and dragnet of better options characterize Adamawa PDP Primaries

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Adamawa conducted its Primaries for those to fly the party tickets as candidates in State House of Assemblies, House of Representatives, and Senatorial seats recently.

But the outcome of the primary elections is raising tension in the party as members and aspirants with perceived grievances have begun to send serious Warnings of bitterness on many of the social media handles.

The party’s wailing wailers have lent out their voices of disagreement with a reminder to stakeholders of how the party is becoming unpopular as a result of what they said imposition has taken the center stage of the last primaries.

In all the three Senatorial zones, the results of either the Senate, House of Representatives, or State Assembly are a matter of concern arising from the primaries.

In the Northern Senatorial District, an aspirant, Mr. Wampana Hosea has dropped a video clip trending on social media lamenting the injustices meted on him.

The Son of the late Paul Wampana who was a Senator in the second republic cried out while addressing a chunk of his supporters (mostly youths) said there was gross, gruesome injustice by the PDP stakeholders in the state.

Hosea said he is a decent politician who believes to go after a set target or a goal and going about his politics without attacking or scandalizing anyone has ended up being a casualty of political injustice.

According to him whatever good or bad you have done to your fellow human being is a boomerang that will have its way of coming back to you.

He said his political enemies that led to his failure during the last primaries may plan evil against him, but he is happy that the whole thing will be turning for good because where he is going will be far better than where he is.

“I thank you all for the support my fellow youth, the love you have shown to me is immeasurable. I was denied the chance to win not because I’m not qualified, but because they don’t want us the youths in the system and consider us a threat.

He opined his grievances to the fact that since he began his campaign seeking to be a senator of the Adamawa northern zone, nobody has called him informing his of a particular interest somewhere else, but he was left alone to work his way to success until yesterday they ganged up against him.

” It’s the injustice of the highest order. Anyway, whatever it is, it’s back to sender whatever good or bad they planned against us. For me, I’m cool and calm, no cause of alarm I didn’t borrow a dime or sold out my assets to foot bills of my campaigns, so life goes on and I remain eternally grateful to all of you”. He added

In the Central Senatorial zone, Hong Local Government precisely It was a show of arch bitterness and acrimony by a group of Youth who thronged the highway setting ablaze PDP banners, and posters of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.

In a viral video, they condemned how the imposition of a candidate for a house of representatives will destroy PDP in the area.

They warned of impending party failure in the coming 2023 elections because of imposition.

The alleged that the Governor of Adamawa state is behind bringing unpopular candidates across the 21 local governments.

The youth were chanting denigrating songs of defeat to PDP and vowed to rock the party’s boat to failure.

While the result of the Senatorial ticket shocked many as the Son of Bamamga Tukur, former National Chairman of PDP lost out on the contest.

Awwal Tukur was a former Lawmaker in the National Assembly to have represented the people of Yola South, Yola North, and Girei Federal constituency and a forefront ally of Governor Ahmadu but could not win the election for reasons connected with the interest of the Governor at the moment.

Crisis, and mass defections may set in with aggrieved party members may be working out protesting their grievances.

Before now, the Senator representing the Northern District, Ishaku Abbo while leaving PDP last year envisaged all these happenings.

Today he recalled that:

“These things happening to them now, I saw them about three years ago. When I cried out, they didn’t believe me.

” Now they believed. Events have justified me.”

For Honourable Idi Aminu who aspired to be a Lawmaker for Mubi South, Mubi North and Maiha said a senior politician has set up an agenda of wickedness for his selfless reasons.

The former chairman of Maiha Local Government worried that the exercise was intentionally organized to destroy the party and the good sons and daughters of the party.

Amin has disdained the imposition the present PDP in Adamawa has set in a ground game plan to bring in APC to form a government in 2023.

Bitterness is the aftermath and matter arising from the last Primaries of Adamawa PDP from aspirants, and party supporters.

The primaries has given delegates the opportunity to bargain their worth in millions.

Michika and Madagali House of Representatives contest was keenly contested as the incumbent, Honourable Zakaria Dauda Nyampa was reported to have given million naira to each delegates in Michika. While some in Madagali got up to three million naira.

It was observed in some areas of Adamawa central that aspirants were dishing out millions of naira to delegates. It was a game for the highest bidder
