In a heartwarming display of camaraderie, Atiku Abubakar, the former presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), shared a breakfast meeting with Peter Obi, the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, in Adamawa State.
Atiku took to his verified X account to share the moment, captioning it “It is breakfast time with my friend, @PeterObi, in the ‘land of beauty.'” The meeting is seen as a significant gesture of friendship and solidarity between the two leaders.
The talks are seen as a strategic move to challenge the incumbent President Bola Ahmed Tinubu
Peter Obi is currently in Adamawa State to deliver a keynote address at the American University of Nigeria’s (AUN) Founders Day and Anniversary celebration. The event is being held at the university, which was founded by Atiku Abubakar.
This meeting between Atiku and Obi comes amidst reports of a potential merger between the two leaders ahead of the 2027 general elections. The talks are seen as a strategic move to challenge the incumbent President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
