Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party’s presidential candidate, declared on Saturday that, if elected president of Nigeria in 2023, the country’s unity will be his top priority.
In addition, Atiku spoke forcefully in favor of state policing as a remedy for the nation’s existing security issues.
During his speech at the PDP presidential campaign rally in Edo State, Atiku made the remark.
Atiku stated that he is committed to stabilising Nigeria and repairing the country’s crumbling infrastructure, particularly the appalling condition of federal roads around the nation.
Atiku visited the palace of the Oba of Benin seeking royal blessings after making the pledge during the party’s campaign rally in Edo State, South-South Nigeria.
The vice presidential candidate for the PDP, Ifeanyi Okowa, the governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, and the PDP National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, among others, were also in attendance at the event, which took place within the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium in Benin City.
Okowa, stated in his speech that Atiku had a significant influence on the nation’s South-South development.
