In a bold move to expand Nigeria’s political landscape, the National Coalition Group (NNCG) has formally submitted an application to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the registration of a new political party, the All Democratic Alliance (ADA).

The application, dated June 19, 2025, and received by INEC on June 20, 2025, marks a significant step toward diversifying the nation’s democratic process.
The request, signed by Chief Akin A. Rickets, the Protem National Chairman of the NNCG, outlines the vision and structure of the proposed party. With the slogan “Justice for All,” the ADA aims to champion inclusivity and equitable governance.
The application letter detailed the party’s identity, including its name, acronym, and national secretariat address, as provided on the association’s official letterhead.
Accompanying the letter were key documents, including the party’s logo, which features symbolic colors and a corn (maize) emblem, representing agricultural prosperity and unity.
The ADA also submitted its manifesto, articulating its ideology, and a constitution aligning with Nigeria’s 1999 Constitution (as amended), Section 75 of the Electoral Act 2022, and global democratic standards.
Additional materials included the party’s flag, bearing its name, acronym, and slogan, as well as minutes of the NNCG’s meeting endorsing the registration.
“We respectfully request the registration of our association, the All Democratic Alliance, as a political party,” Chief Rickets wrote. “This decision follows the NNCG’s resolution to sponsor our association for full registration. We eagerly await INEC’s guidance on the next steps.”
The formation of the ADA comes at a time when Nigerians are increasingly calling for political alternatives that address pressing issues such as economic inequality, insecurity, and governance challenges. Political analysts suggest the ADA’s emergence could spark fresh debates and energize the electorate ahead of future elections.
INEC is expected to review the application in accordance with its guidelines, which include verifying compliance with legal and procedural requirements. The commission has yet to comment officially on the submission but is likely to outline the next steps in the coming weeks.

As the ADA awaits INEC’s response, Chief Rickets expressed optimism, stating, “We are committed to building a party that reflects the aspirations of all Nigerians and upholds justice as its core principle.”
