A scathing press release from the Atiku Media Office has accused Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Policy Communication, of launching a desperate attack on former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, revealing growing unease within the Tinubu administration over Atiku’s rising political influence.

In a fiery statement, the Atiku Media Office condemned Bwala’s recent TVC interview remarks, branding him a “political turncoat” whose “sanctimonious pontificating” reeks of opportunism.

Bwala, a former spokesperson for Atiku’s 2023 presidential campaign, was criticized for his audacity in questioning the legacy of a statesman who, the statement claims, remains Nigeria’s most formidable opposition leader.

If Atiku is a spent force, why the relentless smear campaign?

The release highlights the Tinubu camp’s fixation on Atiku as evidence of his enduring relevance. “If Atiku is a spent force, why the relentless smear campaign?” the statement queries, pointing to the “strategic allocation of presidential platforms” to discredit him. It positions Atiku as the architect of a powerful national coalition aimed at rescuing Nigeria from “economic collapse, institutional failure, and democratic erosion”—a movement that has “rattled the ruling elite.”

Atiku’s legacy, the statement asserts, is defined by his decades-long commitment to reform, restructuring, and electoral integrity, undiminished by the “revisionist bile” of defectors like Bwala.

The Atiku Media Office reaffirmed the former vice president’s unwavering focus on Nigeria’s future, dismissing Bwala’s attacks as the “petty ego trips of desperate presidential aides.”

Signed from their Abuja office, the statement underscores Atiku’s resolve to lead Nigeria’s rebuilding, undeterred by what it calls “political jesters masquerading as patriots.
