The All Progressives Congress (APC) political boat in Adamawa State is rocking down with serious party internal squabbles lingering for a possible no solution or anyone intervening.

The casting aspersions on each other of the party’s senior members in the last week is a clear show of party disunity with no one mediating and reconciling aggrieved members.

The Adamawa Northern Senator, Mr. Ishaku Abbo has advised the Northeast national vice chairman of the party, Comrade Salihu Mustapha over his open attack on Senator Aishatu Ahmed Dahiru (Binani) that she is a political failure and a mess.

Abbo in an interview with our correspondent in Yola told Salihu to stop behaving like a thug and raise to the expectations of the office is occupying as the National Vice Chairman of North East of APC.

in a strongly worded response, Ishaku reminded Mustapha that Binani won the House of Representatives election beating him hands down when he contested alongside with her.

“Who was Salihu before Binani? The same Salihu during the Gubernatorial primary of our party supported a particular candidate and Binani defeated him hands down.

” This woman can never be called a political failure, and can never be in a political mess. He can never boast of winning election in a free and fair contest in this country.” Abbo said

He advised that Salihu should leave Thuggery and start behaving like a leader that befits his office, uniting APC is what will give him a credit of a good leader.

“Because of his attitude APC in Adamawa is experiencing the worst crisis in Nigeria where they blackmailed Ibrahim Bilal, the former chairman of the party in the state into signing a letter of resignation in his own house.” He added

He accused Mustapha of wielding power in the Adamawa APC to the extent of using unelected Local Government party officials to suspend an elected sitting Senator as if the party is his personal property.

“Salihu went ahead to force the woman leader to resign, he also went ahead to force the Vice Chairman Southern zone to resign, it’s only in his state they are confusing party members. What legacy is he leaving for his children and the younger generation? It’s too bad

“I advised him to live up to his office, the office is holding now does not give him the liberty to behave like a political thug, we have graduated him to a leadership position, and he should therefore live by that standard.

” We have it on record that they used him against Tinubu to removed Adams Oshiomole, they are now using him to destabilize Adamawa state. We are giving him a last warning or we will keep knocking at his doors.” Abbo warned

Salihu, when contacted, said he has no time on replying to anyone whenever they are attacking his personality but can however never keep quiet when someone is attacking the system he was sworn in to protect.

According to him, he was forced to correct a wrong narrative Binani has put out that she was resigned because someone in our party insulted an elder statesman, former Governor Murtala Nyako.

He said the narrative was not a statement of facts which was why he replied to her else he would not stoop that low in defending what is not in the interest of the party.

Mustapha vowed to protect the party’s interest at all costs, which was why he corrected the lies being peddled around that Binani resigned because of Nyako while we are very much aware that the party asked her to resign.

“I’m only trying to correct the wrong narrative which was put out by Binani and I’m not here to reply to anyone who feels attacking me is the best way to go about it.

” All I expected Binani to do is to say the obvious fact that she was resigned because the Party at the National level asked her to do that. Not to give a wrong narrative that she is resigning because someone insulted Nyako who is an elder statesman. Her wrong narrative is capable of tearing down the party the more hence the need to correct it in the right perspective.” Salihu said.

His interview with press men to have called Binani a political failure has attracted counter-response from many party men.

Senator Abbo Ishaku, Comrade Ahmad Sajoh, and Sonny Moniedafe have chided Salihu to have uttered a bitter statement in their separate interviews.

Salihu, however, said he has been on talking terms with all of them, recently according to him they have all interacted on their personal issues.

He said if they mean seriously to advise him they would have call him for good advice that will help the party not going to the media.

But going to press it’s no longer advised and will never respond to them on any of the issues they raised.

“Sajoh and Sunny are elders that I truly respect, I don’t think if they call me for any advice I will reject it, since they decided to go to press for personal attacks I will not reply them because I’m after my party winning election in 2023,” Salihu said
