The office of Commodore Jamila Abubakar Sadiq Malafa filled to the brim at the NAVAl headquarters in Abuja as she played host to the leadership of Northern Women Assembly (NAWO) to honour her with the Gambo Sawaba achievers award of excellence.
While renditing the glorious success story to stardom of Malafa, the President of the Association,Aisha Hussaini said the Adamawa born female General is a golden fish that must attracts honours from all people because of the archives of enviable records she achieved.
The pages of Jamila’s citation described her a woman who has an equivalent of the entire library of success,a heroine into role modeling and the future in the present of a good Nigeria.
Jamila, Director Legal Services of the Nigerian NAVY,an office to have a woman occupying for the first time,NAWO said her quality of a corruption crusader,human activist, Peace advocate,her moral balanced attitude, diligent to work and cultivated administrative skills made her to where she is.
On receiving the Award,the citation of Malafa revealed that her early stage training as a nurse exposed her to see life as an adventure of improvement to better self and humanity,she further her studies and read law at the University of Lagos, also went to Malta University in USA, obtained a Masters Degree in international Maritime Law and a Doctor of philosophy (PhD) inview.
The group investitured her one of the Matron that will see to the impactful grow of the Association in helping the needy, they said Mrs Sadiq was selected for the award on the basic of discrete criteria to search,identify persons of outstanding personalities who have Distinguished themselves in the service of Community and humanity.
“Whenever I reflect on what you have achieved over some years of dedicated and unblemished services,an exemplary of great family values and source of succor to the down trodden,it inspires me and all of us present here to be like you and become great achievers in our various life of endeavors. You are and you have been a great woman to everyone.
“Ladies and gentlemen,I present to you one of our respected awardee,who have been a pace setter,a gold getter,a fantastic philanthropist,we are happy to associate with this great achiever per excellence.” They said
In an emotional feelings Woman general Jamila responded by appreciating their thoughtful heart of love to recognize her little contribution to the larger society.
According to her, it is by God’s divine and infinite Mercies she is what she is today and her long standing decision is to do what the society and posterity will judge her for good.
“I have a passion to move forward the course of women because we bear seeds of generations in us,my duty as a mother is to see any child from whichever background as my own to help him or her in my own little way to improve our their.
“Thank you for honouring me,we are now partners in progress to see to the need of Women, especially those into many societal ills and challenges.” Malafa said
She however enjoined them to remain focus to what they have been called to do as Mothers who are after well being of children and wards irrespective of who gave birth to them.
NOWA was established 27th August,2011 with over 40,000 membership strength has its core Objective to promote unity, create resource for Women,to encourage Women to participation in politics and turning their weaknesses into strength
