The Bachama Traditional Council and Hama Bachama, His Royal Majesty Homun Dr. Daniel Shaga Ismaila, are mourning the passing of Senator Jonathan Silas Zwingina, a renowned son of the Lunguda nation, who died on October 2, 2024. Senator Zwingina left an indelible mark on the sands of time, and his legacy will be difficult to replace.
Senator Zwingina was a founding member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and served two terms in the Senate, representing Adamawa South Senatorial District from 1999 to 2007. He chaired several committees, including Works and Housing, Establishment, Internal Affairs, Information, and Special Projects, showcasing his dedication to public service.
The Bachama Traditional Council and Hama Bachama have expressed deep sadness over the loss of Senator Zwingina, describing him as a statesman, bridge builder, and elder who effectively represented his people.
