Suspected bandits ambushed and killed eight members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) in Dan Lutu village, Tsafe Local Government Area, on Thursday, October 9, 2025. The CJTF members were responding to a distress call about bandits planning to terrorize the community when they were attacked.
According to local sources, the CJTF members bravely engaged the heavily armed bandits in a fierce gunfight but were ultimately overpowered. The assailants, known for their ruthless attacks in the region, fled the scene after the ambush.
A member of the local vigilante network confirmed that the bodies of the slain CJTF members have been recovered, and arrangements for their burial are underway. The attack has heightened fears among residents, who are calling for increased security presence in the area.
