Ladan Salihu, a political commentator, has alleged that during the Minister of State (MoS) for Defense, Bello Matawalle’s recent visit to Gusau, Zamfara State, bandits conducted abductions in Kaura-Namoda town for a duration of two hours. He said Kaura Namoda is situated approximately 30 kilometers away from Gusau.
Salihu made this statement during an interview with Arise TV while speaking on the security challenges in Birnin Magaji LGA, Bukun Yum LGA, and Maradun LGA of Zamfara State after the court ordered INEC to conduct a fresh election in all three aforementioned LGAs.
In Salihu’s words: “You can not go outside the local government headquarters in Birnin Magaji more than 2 kilometers at any time of the day or night. Tell me how can you conduct an election in that kind of situation and ditto for Bukun Yum. when Minister of State for Defense was in Gusau, bandits spent two hours 30 kilometers away taking people in Kaura Namoda at will”.
