Six kidnapped farmers were taken from the farming community of Garbatau
The six kidnapped farmers were taken from the farming community of Garbatau, nestled between two mountains.
Adamu Dauda, a resident of Maihula town, reported that the kidnappers contacted the families of the abducted individuals and demanded a ransom of N100 million.
Dauda also mentioned that at this time last year, a similar incident occurred when armed groups invaded the area, resulting in the abduction of numerous farmers and obstructing their harvest. He noted that the ongoing crisis has once again disrupted the farmers’ efforts to gather their crops, just as it did a year ago.
The spokesperson for the Taraba State Police Command, SP Usman Abdullahi, has not responded to calls or messages regarding the situation.
