The national publicity secretary of the Federated Kurama Association, Mr. Pius Agaji Kyauta, confirmed to this medium that the deadly attack happened around 10 p.m., when the kidnappers suspected to be Fulani—raided the communities, fired sporadic shots, killed four people, and kidnapped ECWA Pastor Rev. Istifanus Dunga of Jantsauni, along with 11 others.

Kyauta called for urgent intervention from security agencies and the Kaduna State government, as the communities have been ravaged beyond anyone’s imagination.

A victim of the attack, who did not want his name printed, said his father was kidnapped without clothes, along with his kid sister, and that the attackers—numbering in the hundreds—surrounded every house of their targets.

“You dare not go out to run; they will just shoot you. And if you remain indoors, they will enter and take you away,” he said.

According to him, the four people killed were youths within the ages of 27 and 30. To this moment, no call from the kidnappers has demanded ransom.

The number of one of the kidnapped victims, Ibrahim Rabo—a teacher with the Kaduna State Post Primary Education Board—dialed by our correspondent, was not going through.

The whole community is left in deep mourning, describing it as an evil that has befallen the entire Kurama nation and that requires both security and spiritual intervention.
