Bauchi State Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, on Saturday, emerged the new Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party Governors’ Forum.

He replaced his Oyo State counterpart, Governor Seyi Makinde.

Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, announced Mohammed’s emergence
shortly after the Governors’ closed-door meeting held at the Government House in Bauchi on the sideline of the one-day retreat organised by the main opposition party for its members elected on its platform in the recently-held general elections.

Fintiri also announced Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, as the elected vice chairman of the forum.

He said Mohammed’s emergence as the chairman of the forum was based on his competence and capability to steer it to greater heights.

Responding to his emergence as the forum chairman, Governor Mohammed promised to collaborate with his colleagues to develop the party.

He said his emergence was a mark of honour to him and to the entire people of Bauchi State.

Governor Mohammed, however, appealed to his colleagues to support him in the tasks ahead.
