Bauchi Police Smash Bandit Supply Chain: Two Arrested with 560 Litres of Fuel, Arms, Ammunition Recovered

Operatives of the Nigerian Police Force (NPF) have arrested two suspects, Ayuba Ahmadu and Danlami Ayuba, for allegedly supplying fuel to bandits in Alkaleri Local Government Area.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Bauchi State Police Command, SP Nafiu Habib, disclosed this while briefing newsmen on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, on Wednesday.

SP Habib stated: “On Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at about 1400 hours, the ever-alert Joint Task Force (JTF) operatives deployed to Mansur town in Alkaleri LGA intercepted two suspects, Ayuba Ahmadu and Danlami Ayuba, both males aged 25, from Bogwas village in Alkaleri LGA. They were found in possession of 560 litres of petroleum motor spirit (PMS).”

The suspects confessed to selling fuel to bandits in the area. Each suspect was carrying a container with 280 litres on a Honda motorcycle, SP Habib added.

He further revealed that arms and ammunition were recovered from the suspects, including two AK-47 rifles, three Dane guns, 200 live rounds of ammunition, and 40 empty shells.

Other items seized include 12 knives, 18 cutlasses, one axe, and two sticks.

The Bauchi State Police Command, under the leadership of CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, has reiterated its unwavering commitment to maintaining peace and security across the state. The command urged members of the public to report any suspicious activities, assuring them of confidentiality and protection.

These efforts come as Bauchi State marks its 50th anniversary, celebrating five decades of progress and development since its creation on February 3, 1976.

The police have vowed to sustain their crackdown on criminals and ensure that justice is served without compromise.
