Benue APC Kicks Off LG Polls Campaign, Vows to Deliver Victory

The State Organising Secretary of APC says his party is ready to participate in the October 5th council polls. Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has flagged off the campaign for the forthcoming local government elections, comprising twenty-three LGAs councils in the state.

Represented at the occasion by his deputy, Governor Dr. Sam Ode, while flagging off the campaign rally on Wednesday in Gboko Local Government, enjoined the candidates to work assiduously towards ensuring success during the polls. He appealed to the party stalwarts to ensure their candidates emerge victorious during the race.

Deputy Governor Ode subsequently handed over 23 flags to the various chairmanship candidates and their deputies, urging them to protect the interest of the masses in their localities

In his remarks, Dr. Benjamin Omale, State Caretaker Chairman, announced that his committee had done much in resolving critical issues to ensure aggrieved parties collectively took decisive action to appease them. The caretaker committee chairman disclosed that his committee’s efforts have been instrumental in fostering unity and understanding within the party.

He further commended President Bola Tinubu, National Chairman of the party, and the working committee for their support in bringing peace to the state and forming a unity government.

Earlier, speaking during the occasion, Senator Joseph Akaagerger said the entire people of Benue senatorial North East District were fully behind the agenda, pledging massive support during the polls.

In his comment, Barr Emmanuel Jime, who spoke on behalf of the people of Zone B, said the masses elected Governor Alia, and that was why he was working for them. Barr Jime said the governor was only doing what the electorates asked him to do by executing people-oriented projects and building human capacity.

He urged the local government chairmanship candidates to ensure they replicate the governor’s mode of administration at the grassroots.

Speaking with journalists shortly after the event, Mr. James Orgunga, State Organising Secretary, stated that the ruling party’s candidates were vying for chairmanship and councillors, comprising the twenty-three LGAs, and concluded by saying they were ready for the election.
