A gruesome murder has shaken the Federal Polytechnic, Nasarawa, after a student allegedly hacked his colleague to death in a brutal attack. The Nasarawa State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of John Gambo, an ND2 Banking and Finance student, in connection with the killing of Ibrahim Matthew, a part-time ND2 Computer Science student.
According to SP Ramhan Nansel, the Command’s public relations officer, the incident occurred after a violent altercation between the two students, who were tenants in the same residence. The police were alerted to the scene by a complaint from their landlady, Madam Mercy-Bassey, and upon arrival, they found the victim lying in a pool of blood.
Despite efforts to save his life, Matthew was pronounced dead at the General Hospital in Nasarawa town due to the severity of his injuries. The suspect, Gambo, was swiftly apprehended and reportedly confessed to attacking the victim with an axe and a knife.
