Bloodshed in Benue: Fulani Terrorists Strike Again, Leaving Death and Destruction

On August 11, 2024, the town of Egwuma in Agatu County, Benue State, suffered a devastating attack by Fulani militants, resulting in the death of one person and the destruction of several houses.

This incident occurred just 29 days after a previous attack on July 14, 2024, which claimed the lives of 12 Christian worshippers.

Survivors of the attack shared their harrowing experiences with TruthNigeria, recounting the brutal murder of a husband and father, Echechofu Audu, who was beheaded by the terrorists.

The victims are calling on the government and international community to provide assistance and protection.

The Egwuma community has vowed to defend itself against future attacks, with youths preparing to resist the terrorists. However, they are seeking government support to establish a military or mobile police base to prevent further attacks.

Local leaders have condemned the attack and called for decisive action from the government to address the frequent carnage by Fulani terrorists. The federal and state governments have yet to issue statements on the latest attack, which has raised concerns about their response to the crisis.

The Benue State Police Command claims to have not been officially informed about the second attack, despite responding swiftly to the first incident.

The lack of prompt response to these attacks and underreporting by mainstream media have led to suspicions of a conspiracy and erosion of trust in the government and media.
