A devastating explosion rocked Kano on Saturday, leaving five people dead and 15 others injured. The blast, believed to have originated from a military-grade mortar bomb, sent shockwaves through the affected area and prompted an immediate response from security personnel and medical teams.

According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred in the early hours of the day, causing widespread panic. The State Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, confirmed the incident, stating that the explosion may have been caused by improperly handled or transported military ordnance.
“We received a call about a serious incident, and upon arrival, we found a suspected explosion – possibly a military mortar bomb,” the Commissioner said. “Five people died, and 15 were injured. We’re still investigating the cause and ownership of the explosives.”
The victims were quickly evacuated to nearby hospitals, and security agencies are working to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the explosion. The Commissioner urged the public to remain calm, assuring that the facts will be clearer once the investigation is completed.
