Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar led a delegation to meet with ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo at his hilltop residence in Abeokuta, Ogun State, on Monday.
Atiku was accompanied by former Governor of Cross River State, Liyel Imoke, and Senator Aminu Tambuwal, a former governor of Sokoto State.
The meeting’s agenda was not disclosed, but it comes as opposition politicians strategize to defeat the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 presidential election.
Atiku, who deputized Obasanjo from 1999 to 2007, has been seeking the presidency for over three decades. He came second in the 2023 presidential election, losing to President Bola Tinubu of the APC.
