…give FG fresh one week ultimatum

Organised Labour comprising the Nigeria Labour Congress and the Trade Union Congress, on Tuesday, announced the suspension of their nationwide strike for one week.
TUC President, Festus Osifo, made this announcement following a joint extraordinary National Executive Council meeting of the unions in Abuja.
“A joint NEC meeting of TUC/NLC has approved to relax the industrial action for one week with immediate effect,” Osifo said.
Labour is expected to make further details public in a communique to be issued later.
Both the NLC and the TUC alongside their affiliates had embarked on the nationwide strike to protest Federal Government’s refusal to meet its demand for a minimum wage of N494,000.
FG had proposed N60,000 as the new minimum wage.
