Adamawa State Governor, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri CON, has approved the immediate dissolution of the Management Board of the Jimeta Modern Market. The decision, announced on June 11, 2025, brings an end to the tenure of the Board’s Chairman and members, who have been relieved of their duties with immediate effect.

According to a statement signed by Humwashi Wonosikou, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, the dissolved Board members have been directed to hand over all government properties in their care to the Commissioner of Commerce and Industry.

Governor Fintiri emphasized the need for a seamless transition, stating, “The Ministry of Commerce and Industry must now ensure a seamless transition and work diligently to maintain the market’s functionality.”

The Governor further urged the relevant authorities to prioritize the welfare of market stakeholders, including traders and workers, and work towards creating a conducive business environment that fosters economic growth and development in Adamawa State.
