BREAKING: INEC’s Swift Response to ADA’s Political Party Application Sparks Hope for Unity, Success

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has elicited optimism with its prompt and transparent handling of the All Democratic Alliance (ADA)’s application for registration as a political party.

Submitted on June 19, 2025, the application received an acknowledgment letter dated June 27, 2025—within just eight days—marking a significant milestone for the coalition.

In a letter signed by Secretary Rose Oriaran-Anthony, INEC confirmed that ADA’s application is under review in line with Part 1, clause 2(ii) of the 2022 Regulations and Guidelines for Political Parties.

Notably, within five days of submission, the commission issued clear statements reaffirming its impartiality and commitment to due process, while also publishing a list of all associations that applied. This rapid response has been hailed as encouraging by ADA’s interim leadership.

The coalition’s success hinges on two key factors: full compliance with legal requirements and a united front to demonstrate to INEC and Nigerians that ADA can form a formidable political party capable of winning elections nationwide.
