The Lagos State House of Assembly has ushered in a new era of leadership, following the impeachment of former Speaker, Mr. Mudashiru Obasa, on Monday. The newly sworn-in Speaker, Mrs. Mojisola Meranda, announced the changes during Friday’s plenary session, revealing the appointment of four new principal officers.

These appointments come after Obasa’s removal by 32 out of 40 members over allegations of gross misconduct. The Clerk of the House, Mr. Lekan Onafeko, was also suspended for alleged financial impropriety, and all standing committees established by the former speaker were dissolved.
