The Federal Government of Nigeria, in collaboration with global telecommunications giant Ericsson, is set to unveil the Connect NextGen Innovation Hackathon, a major initiative aimed at driving digital innovation, youth empowerment, and next-generation technology solutions across the country.

The announcement was made today by the Presidency via its official handle, highlighting the partnership as a key step in advancing Nigeria’s digital economy and fostering homegrown tech talent.
The hackathon is expected to bring together young developers, entrepreneurs, students, and innovators to create cutting-edge solutions in areas such as telecommunications, fintech, AI, sustainable tech, and connectivity infrastructure.
Details on eligibility, themes, prizes, timelines, and application process are anticipated to be released soon by the relevant ministries and Ericsson Nigeria.
This development comes amid ongoing efforts by the Tinubu administration to boost tech ecosystem growth, create jobs for the youth, and position Nigeria as a leading digital innovation hub in Africa.
