This directive was given during Tuesday’s plenary session, with lawmakers emphasizing that internet providers must block access to these sites under the new directive.
Katsina Representative Dalhatu Tafoki sponsored the motion, which aims to safeguard the nation’s moral fabric. The move has sparked debate on the role of government in regulating online content and protecting societal values.
The NCC has been tasked with ensuring that all internet providers comply with the shutdown order, effectively restricting access to pornographic material nationwide.
